In REVENGE, Popperface returns from the dead — a blue-lipped, exhausted body brought back by the chemical burn of amyl nitrate and memory.
This alter ego of artist Gareth Chambers uses dance, mixed martial arts, and boxing to dig into the darker sides of masculinity and selfhood. The work moves between ritual and breakdown, where pain and performance blur.

Developed through residencies in Hull, Nottingham, and during lockdown, the piece premiered at Chapter Arts Centre with support from Arts Council Wales.
